I know I have not been good at keeping the blog, 2011 has been one very heavy health wise, which brings together the frustration and depression, and I kinda lost the social will power….but hey, I’m almost finished with my Project 52 weeks 2011, with 8 books printed already at home, plus the 9th scrapped and waiting for me to finish the 10th so I can print it… with PhotoBox, with 50% discount if I finish and can order to print today! These guys are amazing, I’m printing on square spiral as a 30 pages book cost me £13.99, which is doable for me. Will come back with a more detailed explanation of all, and maybe even start another blog for my Project 2012…wont promise anything but one of my resolutions is to try harder , we’ll see…. here are a couple of pages I made combining the two kits, Etc by Danyale’s & ViVa Artistry are a match made in Heaven….do you see why I heart my CTs?

Here is the VERY BEST of iDSD!

I know I haven’t had much time to be consistent with writing…sometimes I rather not write or not even give thought when things are letting me down/feeling sad/physically unwell…but wanted to make a bit of an effort as, going on the quest to get some stuff from the iDSD sales…my disappointment is…well…just that, disappointment.

So now even more so, I want to show you what the most amazing designers in the whole digi-land are doing. I have the blessing of belonging to teams that are more like families, a group of friends scrapping together, without much pressure which makes me even more want to spread the word.  These women are the type who respect what ART is, and the main reason why we all are in this boat: to preserve memories. Yes, I know, everyone needs to make money, but it is possible to do so without breaching certain principles… & this is what they do. I know many people think we *don’t count* on giving opinions on designers for whom we do Creative Team work, but, at least myself and a few others I know…we are with these designers because we LOVE what they do…this was the main reason we approach them, applied to be in their teams…I know there are people who are in gazillions of teams, I’m not sure how they do it, nor gonna discuss here what I think, under my point of view, that principles should be…well, at least not today LOL, I have been tempted to write about it though…

As with Danyale, have a look at the whole store, they have amazing gems from first to last page. Here is the one kit that rocked my soul like no other, with us being such madly in love with Wicked, the musical, Return to Oz is one of the most amazing kits I have ever seen. I have used this in a very specific themed way for my pages, but have a look at the ViVa’s gallery HERE, for inspiration in many other ways (that have not to do with the theme and STILL rock the boat!!!) The alpha in this last page is from Etc by Danyale’s kit St Martin’s Feast, a beautiful mini with light and a festive feeling that has been great in helping me give the right feel to the Wicked pages.

Another super gorgeous release by ViVa Artistry is  The Cat’s Meaow , more than a pet’s kit, so much fun and originality like I have not seen before, but judge for yourself (am sure you will agree!)

Today, I’m feeling…… Wicked!

I know, I know. I am SO bad at keeping up with the blog. I have not been at my best health wise and sometimes blogging requires some effort…but more than blogging today I want to share a blog post from my dear, loved, amazingly special friend/sister Vicky.

We are going to Wicked today. It will be my 3rd time, Sarita’s 5th, Vicky & Nadia’s first. So, we are taking our best friends to the musical of our lives, the musical that touched our heart and introduced us to some hugely talented people, like Mark Evans, Rachel Tucker, Louise Dearman (these tow girls have replaced my first favourite Elphie & Glinda who were Idina & Cheno) and also Alexia Kadime, Julie Legrand, and many others in the cast. I will come write more later, but here is the post that made me go all gooey inside, from the only girl that achieved the un-achievable: me being proud to call myself a Brit.

I may even think about nationalising now LOL

Feeling Summery….

…even though the weather is not all that, I have to say….

Sometime last year, when I wasn’t scrapping anywhere other than Scrapblog (now merged with Mixbook) and then I bought ScrapBookMax, I bought a couple of kits from Gotta Pixel. Both designers emailed me back very soon after, thanking me for the purchase and giving coupons…which I thought was a nice gesture. I did write on the spot to one of them (it was Bella Gipsy) to thank back. For some reason I left the other designer for later…so in December that year (2009) when I was getting ready for Christmas and clearing up computer files, I found the other designer’s email and write back…to my surprise, this lady write back to me, and we started a conversation which developed into something so beautiful: she asked me if I wanted to be part of her CT (Creative Team, as most of you know) after I showed her a couple of pages I made with her kit. This was before Christmas so the magic, the feeling that a guardian angel of some sort had put us in each other way grew in me, I think as much as it grew in her, because we became great friends. To this day she is the very first person I write to when I get called for a CT after an application, (to do my happy dance LOL) and the first person I write to when I’m low or wanna share something that is happening….because of different stores, different time schedules and all those things of life, I left her CT but, as I just said, the friendship stands strong and fierce. This lady, whom you may know, is Karen Schulz, from SnickerDoodleDesigns by Karen (she was My Own Font by Karen @ Gotta Pixel, in case you remember and wondered what happened to her, well, check her store, you may have some pleasant surprises!)

I have been (for the longest time) trying to finish a page I’m doing on her for our year books,but for one reason or another haven’t yet. She does from time to time ask me to make some pages for her, which I do with total pleasure, and this is what I want to show you now. She has an exclusive store at ScrapBook Elements, and today she has a new release, Watermelon Wishes, which is cute and the colors were so suited for some photos I have, that I made not one, not two but 3 pages  Have a look and check her store, the kit is on sale, I’m sure you will love it!  I look at these photos and can’t help the feeling of butterflies in my stomach of seeing how fast my *child* is growing up…. anyway, here are the pages, all linked, just click on the image to go to Karen’s store! So much to tell & so little time….

Hello hello, wherever you are….and yes, I know, am a bad, bad blogger. I am pretty good at keeping my hand written journal though…and I started drawing again….but as I’m flying by, I would like to make a log of the last few events that are very important, and I have been meaning to get this down into screen writing…for a few weeks now.

First of all, the Art Journal Caravan. That deserves a post on it’s own, [as I keep saying] Then is almost summer…so I created courage and applied for guesting at The DigiChick site CT...as usual, with little hope and…what would you know? I got a July guesting which I’m enjoying so much…even though m,y sleep patterns got messed up again…and I’m sleeping near to nothing, oh well, at least I’m scrapping

I had a visitor from Indonesia, Wulan from the ViVa Artistry CT was here for a few days, we got together, ate sushi, laughed, took photos, got together again, ate fish & chips, laughed a bit more, took more photos, we took her sightseeing….I miss her already! I need time, lots of it, have you got any tips on how to be in every site, post every page, comment in every page….and still keep your sanity? well, give us a shout, because I do not seem to find the answer…. I will try my best and write the proper post in the weekend, but, in the mean time,you can have a look at my galleries at the Art Journal Caravan & The DigiChick….

and here is my very latest page, for my baby daughter. I used a template which is from my newest find..Cluster Queen Creations…this girl seriously is a cluster queen, love her temps and I’m getting addicted… Here I used Gimme Layers Vol 12, a shiny new release. So, I know this isn’t precisely like writing a blog post making a total record of my life…but I am so pleased that at least I am not leaving 3 months pass until my next post LOL. And one can argue that this is in fact making a record, as making these pages is something I am totally passionate about….

Today the Gotta Grab It event at Gotta Pixel has kicked in, which means that until Tuesday, you will be able to buy entire packs made by all designers there with one palette, great for Mix & Match, but mainly…the packs are $1 each!!!!! what is these days that only cost a dollar?and for us in the UK…well, I’m here to show you the pages I made for the event. If you are Isabel‘s fan/follower, you will be pleased to see that Isa’s GGI this month is actually Project June, which means until Tuesday you will be able to buy the Project for much less money, and this is such a beautiful collection, you wont want to miss it! My page is the encounter that Sarita had with her cousin/my niece whom she had not seen for 9 years….it was like they never stopped seeing each other..they went into a piercing adventure and had a great laugh…

Last but not in the least least is Etc by Danyale‘s Summer Sherbet & her Gum-ball Machine Alpha and Cut Out Papers, I wanted a bold kit for a while to scrap these photos from 2006, when Sarita got chicken pox and we spent the whole summer in the sofa bed in the living room, opened, watching TV and eating, but mainly having fun with our very first digital camera, a Kodak Easy Share we got for free at our Kodak local shop when we bought 1000 prints…sometimes I have the impression I took better photos with that than what I do now with the Nikon…but here is the result

Surviving….

…the little tricks life is playing. Not an easy task. When I transferred the blog here (more because of the imposition of Vox closing down) I was all set to go back to blogging regularly,to keep a record again as it kinda hit me how important it was to me when reading the Vox pages as I printed them before they closed down. I haven’t had an easy time lately and it seems to me that, no matter how long I spend in the computer, I can’t catch up with what I would love to do.

Now something really good just happened, nothing big if you look at it in the bigger picture, but big enough for me as I have been hunting for it since Scrapblog merged with MixBook (which I sampled and wasn’t anywhere near the Scrapblog quality, + huge shipping money as it comes from the other end of the world). I think I found a place to print. Why is this so important to me?

Well, the main reason I took up digital scrapbooking was making Sarita’s yearly books, we have printed (in some glorious books) up to her 8th birthday. This was important to me at the time as my idea was to show her and for her to have a concrete proof that her father wasn’t always what he is now, and how much she was wanted and loved, and the fact that it was she who asked for the pages to be printed….

But I got side tracked by the overwhelming amount of talent I found when I had a look outside Scrapblog, got my own program and then a better one, and then the CT (Creative Teams) work…which I’m passionate about, each and every one of *my* designers is a queen in their own styles, and I love the fact that they think me worth of being their show case…..but I have been side tracked of my main goal. I see myself scrapping photos I have already done in the books, which isn’t all that bad because I know now more, or let’s say I evolved in the way I scrap. But I feel a bit like cheating. There is also the Art Journal Caravan.

I had a look at the Caravan last year but it was out of my budget possibilities, so I try forgetting about it. I kept seeing pages all around done with Tangie Baxter‘s stuff, and finding myself back at the AJC page….it occurred to me to have a look at the exchange rate this year and…wouldn’t you say is a lucky thing? It was more than accessible and Sarita was interested too, as she is taking art as a GCSE.  So we embraced it and I found myself wanting to give the Caravan a bit more of my time…oh, by the way, if you are interested in Art Journaling , or simply wanna have a look, there is a chat today with Tangie and the Caravaners @ 12 (NOON) EST, if I’m not mistaken, that is 17:00 for us in the UK (5pm). I will try remembering and be there, as memory in the short term is another one of those tricks life is throwing me.

On the more concrete news, two of *my*designers teamed up for a collab which is absolute wonder…On My Desk was released yesterday, ViVa Artistry & Etc by Danyale  together….just have a look at the pages posted ( HERE & HERE) and you will understand…there is also a new kit by Etc by Danyale & one by Mye De Leon, am posting the pages bellow as I need to stop now…another result of a like trick, had a major fall in the street a few weeks ago and my left hand is on a splint…never imagined I used my left hand as much…

Anyway, here are the pages, and I will try keep my space here updated as much as I can….more in the writing side of things, or at least describe the story with the pages, trying not to get side tracked again
